Etsy released their 2019 wedding trends recently, and let me tell you – we are HERE for these! Maybe I can convince my husband to do a vow renewal just so I can incorporate some of these amazing ideas!

See ya, strapless dresses! This year is all about statement sleeves. We can thank the recent royal weddings for this sleeved wedding dress trend, and this year’s gowns come with all sorts of sleeve details. From boho-bride bell sleeves to intricate lace details, it’s all in those sleeve details this year.
2019 wedding trend: veil alternatives
Statement bridal headpieces are all the rage this year. Brides are opting to forgo the traditional veil for more detailed bridal headpieces, like jewelled bridal combs, vine hair jewellery and rhinestone-encrusted headbands.

Today’s couples are looking for eco-conscience and sustainable items to incorporate into their celebration. Things to think about incorporating include biodegradable confetti, reusable straws, reusable cups and trees or herbs for guests to take home as favors and plant in their backyard.

The 90s are back in a big way, baby! Etsy says 90s wedding searches are on the rise, big time. We think brides can incorporate this trend through spaghetti strap bridesmaid dresses, lucite heels, jewelled butterfly clips and elegant choker necklaces.

Unexpected textures are here in a BIG way this year! Think velvet details, like velvet bridesmaid dresses, velvet tablecloths/linens, silk ribbon details on cakes, laser cut decor details and 3D paper art, like origami backdrops and paper flowers.

Brides and grooms are incorporating secret messages into their details for the big day. We saw this trend really start to get some steam in late 2018, and it looks like 2019 weddings are going to be written in the stars through celestial decor and details. We love incorporating this trend through things like cake toppers, customized star map guest book alternatives, and fairly light mason jars or lanterns amongst the table centrepieces and decor.
