Lanolin oil

Lanolin oil is a life-saver for breastfeeding mamas! It’s one of those items I didn’t really know about as I was preparing my hospital bag for my first-born. Boy, do I wish I had known about this product! Here are some of the different lanolin oils you can find on Amazon (I personally used the Lansinoh brand and thought it was quite good):

Perineal wash bottle

Alright, I’m not going to sugar coat it. This is a must-have in the first few days after baby! And again, it’s one of those items you didn’t know you needed until after baby is born.

Stroller accessories

Believe it or not, stroller companies still haven’t really got the hint that us mama’s need some stroller organization and accessories! There’s too much stuff to haul and not enough space to put it. While some strollers come with more bells and whistles than others, here are some stroller accessory essentials you might want to consider getting for the new mama bear:

Belly butter/stretch mark cream and oils

Stretch marks are one of the realities that come along with motherhood. Luckily, there’s a lot of products on the market to help minimize them or at least help them fade over time. Here are some of our favourites (I personally used Bio Oil and thought it worked really well!):

Gifts to unwind

Let’s be honest…having a new baby is exhausting! And while it’s highly likely that when baby is napping, mom will be, too, it’s also nice to give some gifts to help the new mom unwind and relax! Here are some of our favourite gifts for new moms to unwind with (personally, I’m a huge fan of the Glamglow mud mask and Herbivore coconut bath soak, and The Alice Network is my new favourite book!):

Breastfeeding supplements

Milk supply can be an issue for many women in the first few days and weeks after pregnancy. Luckily, there are a lot of great supplements on the market that can help increase lactation and milk supply:

Nursing pads

Again, one of the things you never knew you needed until after you have a baby is nursing pads! There’s a lot of different options to choose from, from disposable to washable pads, and it just depends on what your preference is (I personally found the bamboo washable pads to be the best):

Nursing tops

While I wasn’t able to breastfeed either of my sons long enough to understand how necessary these are, nursing tops are an absolute essential for breastfeeding mamas! So if you are looking for a gift that a new mama will be super thankful for, nursing tops are a good bet:
